MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to have the privilege to host the Sixth ICGEB Workshop of Human RNA Viruses, Oct. 26-28, 2018, Shanghai, China, sponsored by the International Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB).

The ICGEB Workshop Human RNA Viruses will offer a platform for updates in prophylaxis and control of outbreaks of these infectious diseases, and explore novel strategies of vaccine development, basic virology and host responses by renowned experts, scientists, clinicians, graduate students or individuals from ICGEB member states. The academic exchanges between basic scientists, clinicians, administrative officers and individuals from industry may result in productive collaboration and quick translation of new vaccines or therapeutics from laboratories to clinical application, and will advance our understanding of molecular virology, transmission, immunologic responses and disease progression.

As the chairman of the symposium, I am look forward to welcoming you in late autumn in Shanghai, the largest and most dynamic city in China.

CALL FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The abstracts must be submitted in English electronically prior to the abstract deadline (August 31, 2018). All abstracts must submitted through website: icgeb2018.fudan.edu.cn.

Topics of abstracts: abstracts fallen into the following categories will be considered:

A. Molecular virology of RNA viruses that cause human diseases.

B. Mechanism of epidemiology, transmission, pathogenesis of disease development and persistence.

C. Novel strategies of prevention, epidemical control, diagnosis, treatment and eradication of infection.

D. Development of vaccines and antibodies directly against RNA viruses.

Format of abstracts: structured abstract is required, and a complete abstract should be composed of the following elements:

Title: Not longer than 150 characters

Author’s full Name: First, Middle, Family (Last) Name. Presenting author needs to be underlined.

Department and Institution, City, State/Province + zip (postal) code, Country

Abstract body is divided into following sections

Methods:

Results:

Conclusions:

Length of abstract: 3000 characters. One representative table or graph may be allowed.

Accepted abstracts will be printed in the Workshop Proceedings.

Please note that only abstracts received before the deadline will be considered for oral presentations. Abstracts submitted after the deadline may be eligible for poster presentations, which will be determined by the Scientific Committee.

Successfully submitted abstracts will be acknowledged with an electronic receipt including an abstract reference number, which should be quoted in all correspondence.

All submitted abstracts will be evaluated and selected for oral presentation by the Scientific Committee based solely on scientific merits and quality of content. Notice of selected abstracts will be sent out approximately during September. The presenting author must register for the conference. Abstracts will not be published officially and authors also reserve the right to publish their work elsewhere.
